A Virtual Assistant (VA) is an independent contractor who provides administrative, clerical, marketing, other support tasks and more to clients from a remote office. Virtual Assistants work on a one-to-one basis with clients using the VA's expert skills, up-to-date hardware and software applications, e-mail, fax, telephone, instant messaging and other forms of communication. A VA is NOT an employee, but an independent business owner that provides services for an hourly fee, per project fee or a monthly retainer.
